CSV output

Measurements, units, and status information in Full CSV.

On this page

Choose Full CSV for the full set of sensor measurements, navigation results, and sensor status. The output name ends in _full.csv.

File contents

Both CSV formats include the pilot name, tail number, and aircraft type in the first three rows, using the information entered in the converter. Row 4 contains the column names, and the recorded data begins on row 5. Each subsequent row contains one recorded sample.

The columns contain measurements and status information, with units shown in the column names where applicable. Status fields use true and false or the codes described below.

Reading status fields

Status fields help explain the measurements beside them:

Status Meaning
New Data / New Msg A new sensor reading or message was received for this sample.
Connected The Hub is receiving information from the external sensor.
Avail The sensor provides this measurement, such as outside air temperature.
Healthy The sensor or system reports normal operation.
Die Temp Ok The electronics temperature is within the allowed range, with a margin inside the sensor limits.
INS Initialized The navigation system has completed initialization.

Battery codes are 0 = low, 1 = warning, 2 = okay. A connected sensor can still report a problem, so check its health as well as its connection status. For navigation results, check both INS Initialized and INS Healthy.

The similarly named Air Data and Airdata columns refer to different measurements: Air Data is cabin pressure measured inside the Hub; Airdata comes from an external air-data sensor.

Hub Plus recordings

Hub Plus recordings include additional time information in both CSV formats:

CSV header MATLAB variable Description
UTC Time Initialized utc_time_initialized True when UTC time has been established.
GPS Time Initialized gps_time_initialized True when GPS time has been established.
GPS Week gps_week GPS week number.
GPS Time of Week [s] gps_tow_s Seconds within the GPS week, with microsecond resolution.

UTC gives the calendar date and time. GPS time is given as a week number and seconds into that week. The initialization fields show when each time reference is available. Hub Plus records system time, UTC seconds, and GPS time of week with microsecond resolution (0.000001 s). Its clock synchronizes to the GPS receiver’s one-pulse-per-second signal and uses internal timing between pulses. Hub records UTC directly from its GPS receiver. See Time information for the differences.

Hub Plus replaces the external analog-module columns with voltage and calibrated-value columns for each of its four onboard analog channels. When control assignments are included in the recording, the column names include the assigned control, for example AIN0 Elevator Volt and AIN0 Elevator Val. Control names are Elevator, Aileron, Rudder, Throttle, Mixture, Prop, Flaps, and Custom. Otherwise, the column names are AIN0 Volt and AIN0 Val, and similarly for channels 1–3.

Each column name includes its channel number. Voltage columns show the measured voltage; value columns show the result of the channel calibration, with units determined by that calibration. The onboard channels do not have separate battery, connection, or temperature columns.
