Most users can leave the sensor and navigation settings at their defaults. Review the aircraft information, mounting orientation, and recording format before your first flight.
Open the configuration page
Join OFH+’s OnFlight Wi-Fi network and open http://192.168.23.1. The network name is OnFlight Hub Plus followed by the serial number or the suffix entered in WiFi SSID. No password is required.
Hub Data shows the serial number, software and hardware versions, UTC date and time, sensor status, temperatures, GNSS fix and satellite count, position, attitude, altitude, and estimated GNSS accuracy. External-sensor readings appear when available.
Automatic saving
Changes in Hub Config are sent automatically. Text and number fields are sent after a short pause in typing; dropdowns and checkboxes are sent when changed.
Keep OFH+ powered and stay connected until the status reads All changes saved. This confirms that the device has applied and saved the changes; the confirmation disappears after a few seconds.
| Status | What to do |
|---|---|
| Pending changes… | Wait for the device to apply and save your edits. |
| Waiting for device status… | Keep the connection open while the page obtains device status. |
| Check the highlighted values - changes are not saved. | Correct empty or out-of-range fields, then wait for confirmation. |
| Could not send changes. Select Retry. | Check the Wi-Fi connection and select Retry. |
| Could not refresh settings. Select Retry. | Reconnect if necessary and select Retry to confirm the device’s settings. |
If the connection is lost before confirmation, reconnect and check the applied settings before continuing. Calibration and device actions remain disabled while settings are pending or device status is unavailable.
Make configuration changes on the ground. Applying settings closes the current log, starts a new log, and reinitializes the navigation system. Keep OFH+ stationary and wait for a solid Status light again before flight.
Aircraft metadata
Set Tail Number (up to 11 characters), Pilot Name (23 characters), and Aircraft Type (11 characters). These identify the aircraft and pilot in recorded data.
Recording settings
| Field | Options or range | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Datalog Format | ONFLIGHT, ACROWRX | Select the format required by your analysis application. |
| Datalog Rate | 100, 50, 25, 10, or 5 Hz | Select the rate written to the microSD card. Lower rates reduce file size; OFH+ continues operating at 100 Hz. |
| Datalog Prefix | Up to 11 characters | Set the prefix used for log filenames. |
| UTC to Local Offset | −24 to +24 hours, whole hours | Adjust the microSD file timestamps from UTC to local time. |
Select ACROWRX before recording a flight that you want to review in ACROWRX software. No ACROWRX key or activation step is required on OFH+. It records
.acrowrx_plusfiles.
Select ONFLIGHT to record .onflight files for FlySto, CloudAhoy, or your own analysis tools. Upload directly to FlySto, or use the OnFlight Data Converter to convert for CloudAhoy, CSV, or MATLAB.
File timestamps
OFH+ uses GNSS time for log file creation and last-modified timestamps when a valid fix is available. Without valid GNSS time, a default date and time may be used. UTC to Local Offset changes the file timestamps, not the timestamps within the recorded flight data.
Orientation
The nine Orientation fields form a 3 × 3 rotation matrix, entered row by row. It maps OFH+ sensor axes into the aircraft frame. See Installation and orientation for examples.
Complete all intended matrix edits and wait for All changes saved before using the resulting data.
System settings
| Field | Range | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Disable WiFi in Flight | On/off | Disable Wi-Fi once the INS is initialized and ground speed exceeds 15 knots. Restart OFH+ to restore Wi-Fi. |
| GDL90-Port | 0–65535 | Destination port for GDL 90 applications; normally 4000. |
| WiFi SSID | Up to 12 characters | Set the suffix after OnFlight Hub Plus in the network name. Restart OFH+ after changes to use the new name. |
| Clock Sync DLPF Alpha | 0.00001–1 | Advanced clock-synchronization filter setting. Leave at its default for normal operation. |
| Input Voltage Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Low-pass filtering of input-voltage measurements. |
| Input Voltage Warning Threshold | 3.3–4.2 V | Battery warning threshold. |
| Input Voltage Low Threshold | 3.3–4.2 V | Low-battery threshold; use a value below the warning threshold. |
Leave Disable WiFi in Flight unchecked if you need live displays or external-sensor updates. It can disable Wi-Fi during taxi and also stops forwarding external-sensor updates to the recorder. Onboard recording continues.
When enabled, this is a one-time trigger: after the INS initializes and ground speed exceeds 15 knots, Wi-Fi stays off until OFH+ is restarted. It does not switch back on when ground speed falls during an aerobatic maneuver. The intended use is to trigger it once during takeoff, although taxiing above the threshold can trigger it earlier.
When charging, input voltage reflects the USB supply; otherwise it reflects battery voltage. Battery voltage is only a rough indication of remaining run time.
Sensor settings
These settings are intended for advanced configuration and calibration. Leave them at their defaults unless your installation requires a change.
| Field | Options or range | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| IMU Bandwidth | 20, 10, or 5 Hz | Internal filtering for the accelerometer and gyro. |
| Gyro Bias Motion Threshold (deg/s) | 5–20 | Reject motion during initial gyro-bias estimation. |
| Accelerometer Bias (g) | Three values | Accelerometer zero-offset correction. |
| Accelerometer Scale factor | 3 × 3 matrix | Accelerometer scale and alignment correction. |
| Magnetometer Bias (uT) | Three values | Magnetic offset correction. |
| Magnetometer Scale factor | 3 × 3 matrix | Magnetic scale and distortion correction. |
| Static Pressure Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Pressure measurement filtering. |
| Static Pressure Oversampling Mode | 256, 512, 1024, 2048, or 4096 | Pressure sensor oversampling. |
Accelerometer and magnetometer corrections use a bias vector and scale matrix:
v_corrected = S × (v_measured - v_bias)
The magnetometer provides an initial heading reference. After initialization, the navigation solution uses inertial and GNSS measurements.
INS settings
The inertial navigation system combines accelerometer and gyro measurements with GNSS observations to estimate position, velocity, and attitude.
| Field | Range | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Min Satellite Vehicles | 3–14 | Satellite count must exceed this value for initialization. |
| Min Horizontal Accuracy (ft) | 1–15 | Reported horizontal error must be below this value for initialization. |
| Min Vertical Accuracy (ft) | 1–15 | Reported vertical error must be below this value for initialization. |
| Real-Time Covariance Scale Factor | 1–100 | Adjust the weighting of GNSS uncertainty in the navigation filter. |
| Reachability Filter Distance (ft) | 150–150000 | Reject GNSS positions too far from the current position estimate. |
| Gyro Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Output angular-rate filtering. |
| Accelerometer Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Output acceleration filtering. |
| Magnetometer Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Magnetic-field filtering. |
| Load Factor Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Load-factor filtering. |
| Climb Rate Cutoff Frequency (Hz) | 0.001–20 | Climb-rate filtering. |
More restrictive GNSS acceptance criteria can increase initialization time. Review live GNSS values before changing these settings.
Analog input settings
The page shows AIN0–AIN3 voltages and calibrated values. Set the shared analog cutoff frequency and each channel’s control type, calibration type, and calibration points. See Analog inputs and calibration for the procedure.
Restore defaults
Wait for pending edits and calibration to finish. Drag Restore Defaults from the left to the confirmation end and release when it says Release to confirm. Wait for Defaults restored.
Review the aircraft metadata, orientation, recording format, and analog calibration after restoring defaults. In particular, select ACROWRX again if you need ACROWRX files. If restoration is not confirmed, check the connection and retry.
